Mr Hishamuddin, who lived in self-exile abroad for several years, and Tan, who fled Singapore in 1976 after failing to report for national service enlistment and was stripped of his Singapore citizenship in 1987, belong to a group called Forces for the Renewal of Southeast Asia.

By the end of the day, you would know from all mainstream media that I met Tun Dr Mahathir for 1hr 20 minutes, together with Dr P J Thum, and three other Singaporeans.

Hisham and I presented our Peoples’ Charter for Southeaast Asia to Dr Mahathir.

PUTRAJAYA - Activists aiming to open up democratic space in South-east Asian countries met Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Thursday (Aug 30) to invite him to open a conference next year on the issue.

The group, which included Malaysian political and social activist Hishamuddin Rais, fugitive and former Singapore student union leader Tan Wah Piow, academic Thum Ping Tjin, and three other Singaporeans whom Tan said did not want to be identified, met Tun Mahathir at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya.

Tan said after the 80-minute meeting that they discussed Pakatan Harapan's win at the May election, which he said "brought hope that change is possible in our lifetime through the ballot box".

"Personally, I am grateful for this open, democratic space that Tun Mahathir's government has now opened, and is now a beacon for many struggling for democracy not just in Singapore, but also in other parts of South-east Asia," he added.

Mr Hishamuddin, who initiated Thursday's meeting, said there was a need to manage and defend the success of what was achieved at the May general election.

"We see how People's Power in Manila ended in (Filipino president Rodrigo) Duterte's win. We saw in Indonesia there is government change, but not much change. In South-east Asia, NGOs and people see Malaysia as an example. We have to defend this... In the blink of an eye, it can be lost, as we have seen in the Philippines. The conference will talk about experiences in Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines and Indonesia, so that Malaysians can learn from these," he added.

JJ WAS NO ROBERT KUOK

The two Pahang Malay billionaires are the exemplars of melayu cepat kaya types - via abuse of political power (see OSTB blogpost below), kletocracy, money laundering, squandering rakyats' money. UMNO fakes. 

It seems that there was no sweat and blood with JJ's meteoric rise to be a billionaire. The tears come after the billions - his death. Was it truly a heli accident? Or somebody gave the order to kill! 

Now the mother is claiming part of the assets. There will be big family trouble. Cash is king as Najib put it. 

Robert Kuok, a true self-made multi-billionaire through sweat, blood and tears. He is rightly known as 'Sugar King' - developed sugarcane plantation and sugar industry.

OutSyed The Box:

About 1/3 or maybe even 1/2  of JJ's RM2.1 Billion assets rests in a power station, an IPP now known as NUR Power. 

This power station was once owned by NUR Sdn Bhd of which I was a Company Director. 

The power plant is now easily worth over RM1.2 Billion. It has THREE valuable licenses : a power generation license, a power distribution license PLUS a license to sell back power to TNB.  Just these licenses were worth hundreds of millions of Ringgit. 

At one time  YTL and Scomi Bhd showed interest in buying our plant.  The Scomi boss met me at a golf club and while we were pissing in the Men's Room he offered RM650 million cash to buy our power plant.  We had no plans to sell out.

Here is the story.  

I say my company because I am still a Director of the company which was the major shareholder, founder, developer and owner of Northern Utility Resources SB (NUR Sdn Bhd) - the owner of the power plant. 

We held a 40% stake in Northern Utility Resources SB. Our associates held another 20%. Together we controlled 60%. 

Khazanah Nasional controlled the balance 40% (20% through TNB and 20% directly).

We built and commissioned a 225 MW gas fired power plant in Kulim  Hi Tech Park at a cost of just over RM1.0 Billion. The Asian Financial Crisis saw factories shutting down at the Kulim Hi Tech Park where we built the plant. This stressed our cashflows.

We went to TNB to sell our excess power to them (a tiny, measly 100 + MW of excess power). They refused to help us out. My boss was Indian and the TNB guys used to refer to our plant as the "IPP K_ling". 

Later TNB offered to buy out our 60% stake - but after agreeing on the purchase price they refused to sign the Sale and Purchase Agreement pula. Psychos. 

There was a Court process where we were also frustrated. There is another story there too but I better not say it here.

1.  Folks, guess who was the Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad at the relevant times of our difficulties negotiating with TNB?

ANSWER : JAMALUDDIN JARJIS or JJ.

2. Then the company was put into receivership by the syndicate of banks  where the main shareholder of the main bank CIMB was guess who - Khazanah Nasional Bhd  again. 

The CEO of CIMB was of course the brother of the Super Kleptocrat. 

And JJ was of course Super Kleptocrat's super duper crony buddy - all rolled into one.

The story is not over.  The consortium of Bankers  (led by CIMB Bank and Khazanah of course) then sold our power plant. 

3.  Guess who bought our power plant?

ANSWER : JAMALUDDIN JARJIS. 

By that time he had joined the Najib gomen and he set up a company to buy our power plant from the Banks (via the Receivership).  His company was called NUR Power Sdn Bhd (very original).

The story is still not over. Guess how much JJ paid the Banks for our 225 MW power plant that is worth about RM1.2 Billion (or more).

Because by this time our power plant was (and still is) selling its full output of 225 MW.  Annual cashflow in excess of RM650 million?

So guess how much JJ paid for our power plant? 

Less than RM700 million !!

The Banks gave him about a 50% haircut (discount) from the amount owing to them.  We had built the power plant for over RM1.0 Billion !!  Fuiyyo !! 

So JJ - the ex Chairman of TNB - got his retirement gift from Khazanah Nasional which controls TNB and also controls CIMB. He paid RM700 million or less for our power plant that was worth over RM1.2 Billion.

The story is not over yet. JJ raised a loan to buy our power plant. We heard that just one bank, Maybank gave him the loan to purchase our power plant.

We built the power plant. 

We hired the Austrians (Germans actually) as our contractors. 

I used to visit the construction site often. 

I even bought a house in Kulim because eventually I would have had to move there.

Then the kleptocracy stepped in and just pirated away all our efforts. 

Now they are fighting over their ill gotten gains - ill gotten gains from other peoples' sweat, hard work and life. Becayse one of our FOUR Directors has since passed away - with nothing from his investment and his life efforts given to his widow and family.

JJ's widow, his mother and his children are now fighting over what was pirated from other peoples' honest and hard work.

To JJ's family - sebahagian besar harta your late father bukan duit halal pun.  That is why you are now fighting over the money. It is ill gotten money.  

Karma is not with you.

To my friend Dato Azam Baki of the SPRM - you should investigate the story of NUR Power Sdn Bhd. There is most certainly a serious conflict of interest that JJ - the former Chairman of TNB, can buy over an IPP fo his personal gain where TNB itself was not only a shareholder but a major determinant of that IPP's fate.

WAWANCARA | Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad mahu melihat tembok yang mengelilingi Taman Perindustrian Malaysia-China Kuantan (MCKIP) dirobohkan.

Malaysiakini dalam laporan khas tahun lalu menyorot pembinaan tembok sepanjang kira-kira sembilan kilometer mengelilingi kompleks industri berkenaan yang digambarkan oleh penduduk tempatan sebagai "Tembok Besar China Kuantan".

Dr Mahathir dalam wawancara pertamanya selepas pulang dari China berkata beliau sedang cuba meletakkan semula pihak berkuasa Malaysia di kawasan itu dan telah membangkitkannya kepada Beijing.

"Saya jelaskan kepada kerajaan China bahawa kita akan patuhi peraturan, undang-undang dan amalan mereka di China, jadi kita juga mahu mereka mematuhi undang-undang dan amalan di Malaysia. Mereka tidak pernah menyatakan keengganan kepada hal ini.

"Kami perlu memastikan bahawa pembangunan ini mengikut undang-undang dan peraturan," katanya kepada Malaysiakini dalam wawancara di Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana di Putrajaya.

Pekerja dari China memberitahu Malaysiakini bahawa mereka dilarang keluar dari kawasan tembok berkenaan dan pekerja dibahagi-bahagi mengikut wilayah tempat tinggal mereka di China.

Wakil tempatan yang dipilih juga mengadu bahawa mereka tidak dibenarkan masuk.

"Taman industri bukan negara asing, ia masih lagi tertakluk kepada undang-undang Malaysia, menghalang pegawai tempatan masuk bukan perkara yang seharusnya dilakukan.

"Tiada sesiapa yang pernah melakukan perkara itu. Anda bina taman industri dan anda tidak benarkan rakyat Malaysia masuk.

"Ini bukan amalan yang kita gunakan. Kita mempunyai ratusan taman industri dan semuanya tertakluk di bawah undang-undang Malaysia.

"Jadi kita perlu robohkan tembok dan semua (amalan) ini kerana ia salah di sisi undang-undang negara," kata Dr Mahathir.

MCKIP sebelum ini menjelaskan bahawa tembok berkenaan tidak meliputi keseluruhan kawasan taman industri berkenaan dan hanya terhad untuk kawasan kompleks Alliance Steel (M) Sdn Bhd.

Perlu beri manfaat kepada Malaysia

Dalam wawancara yang berlangsung dalam bahasa Inggeris itu, Malaysiakini bertanya maksud sebenar Dr Mahathir apabila mengatakan "taking down walls".

Dr Mahathir mengesahkan bahawa ia memberi maksud secara harfiah dan figuratif.

"Taman industri ini dibuat di bawah undang-undang Malaysia dan kita perlu menguatkuasakan undang-undang kita di dalam taman industri berkenaan.

"Katakan ada jenayah berlaku di dalam sana, ia tanggungjawab kita. Ia bukan tanggungjawab pihak yang memiliki taman itu," katanya.

Dr Mahathir pulang dari China pada Selasa lalu selepas berbincang dengan Beijing berhubung pengkajian semula beberapa projek mega di Malaysia yang dibiayai oleh negara itu.

Dr Mahathir berulang kali menuduh bekas perdana menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak menjual tanah kepada China sewenang-wenangnya atas nama pelaburan luar.

Pengerusi Pakatan Harapan (HARAPAN) itu menekankan bahawa pelaburan luar langsung perlu memanfaatkan Malaysia dari segi pengetahuan teknologi selain peluang pekerjaan kepada rakyat Malaysia dan bukannya sekadar memberi syarikat China tanah untuk dibangunkan.

Dilancarkan secara rasmi pada 5 Feb, MCKIP dimiliki 49 peratus oleh Guangxi Beibu Guld International Port Group Co Ltd, sebuah syarikat China yang dimiliki oleh kerajaan Wilayah Autonomi Zhuang Guangxi dan 51 peratus pemilikan selebihnya adalah konsortium tempatan, Kuantan Pahang Holding Sdn Bhd.

Kuantan Pahang Holding Sdn Bhd merupakan perkongsian awam-swasta yang terdiri daripada IJM Land Bhd (40 peratus), Sime Darby Property Bhd (30 peratus) dan kerajaan Pahang melalui Perbadanan Setiausaha Kerajaan Pahang dan Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Pahang (30 peratus).

Upacara pembukaan disempurnakan oleh Najib dan Jia Qinglin yang ketika itu merupakan pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kebangsaan Persidangan Perundingan Politik Republik Rakyat China.

Dibahagikan kepada tiga fasa, pembangunan 1,219 ekar ketika ini akan disusuli dengan 1,000 ekar dan 800 ekar masing-masing bagi fasa dua dan fasa tiga.

Sebahagian besar fasa pertama, atau 710 ekar, telah dijual kepada Alliance Steel (M) Sdn Bhd, yang merupakan usaha sama antara dua syartikat China - Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port International Group Co Ltd dan Guangxi ShengLong Metallurgical Co Ltd - menurut jawapan bertulis sidang DUN Pahang bertarikh 14 Sept.

Jawapan bertulis itu menyatakan Alliance Steel, syarikat CHina pertama yang melabur dalam MCKIP, sedang membina loji keluli bersepadu moden yang sudah 50 peratus disiapkan dan dijangka mula beroperasi hujung tahun.

Kerajaan Pahang juga mendedahkan syarikat China yang mengkhususkan kepada bateri kereta berjanji untuk melabur dalam fasa ketiga MCKIP. Laporan media juga menyatakan sebuah lagi syarikat China akan melabur dalam taman industri itu bagi membina kilang aluminium.

MCKIP merupakan projek pertama yang akan dianugerahkan status "Taman Industri Kebangsaan" dan dikatakan akan melonjakkan perkembangan ekonomi tempatan yang akan membuka ribuan peluang pekerjaan kepada warga Kuantan.

LET GENGHIS KHAN SLAY ME

Al-Fadil ibn Marwan (784-864) - Vizier of Al-Motassim, a Christian who embraced Islam. He said:

"If you must compare a Khatib (scribe) to anything, compare him to a wheel for raising water from a well. He must be constantly kept at work. Otherwise he will cease to function properly."

"Do not attack your enemy when he is advancing. That would be folly; for when he is advancing, he has an advantage over you."

Najm al-Din al-Kubra (-1221) - religous scholar, a poet, writer and orator at al-Khwarizm. When Genghis Khan laid seige and to raze the city of Khwarizm, he sent a message to the the Najm to join him.

He sent back the following message, "If I were to leave my people at this hour of their tragedy, it would be an act remote from virtue and magnanimity."

The Najm's body was found among the slain.

TRINITY WAS NO CHRIST BUT A BOMB!

It is no denying that the rogue state has the nuclear bombs. If they were exporting to South Africa in 1975 then surely they have the bombs at a much earlier date. Israel was treating such bombs simply as a commercial item without due concern for world safety. This adds to the macabre of nuclear proliferation which is what the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty trying to control and which Israel refuse to sign. 

Their scientists and compatriots (in the US and elsewhere) have full command of the nuclear technology. Einstein, a German Jew in 1905 came up with the theory of relativity, interconversion of matter and energy, E=mc2. Since then, physicists in Europe were experimenting to release the 'frozen energy' indicated in the formula. Einstein fled to the US in 1934.

In 1932, Chadwick, a British physicist discovered neutron, a new atomic particle with no electric charge. In 1937, Ferni, an Italian physicist using neutrons experimented bombarding Uranium-235 but it was 2 years later that Lise Meitner, an Austro- Jewish refugee from Hitler and Otto Frisch provided the correct explanation of the outcome. 

The U-235 nucleus, absorbing the neutron, splitted into two fragments ie. fissioned. In the course such event, more neutrons are emitted. Another refugee from the Nazis, Hungarian physicist suggested that a chain of such reactions can be sustained.

By the summer of 1939, German physicist Werner Heisenberg commented there were 12 people who have collective knowledge how to assemble an atomic bomb. By 1941, the race for an atomic bomb was going neck-to-neck between the US and Germany. By summer of 1945, by all accounts Germany had lost the race mainly because many of its top nuclear physicists had fled to former.

On July 16, 1945, the first atomic bomb, code-named Trinity, was exploded at Alamogordo, New Mexico. The Manhattan Project, headed by Robert Oppenheimer took 3 years to make it happen. He was stunned by the sheer magnitude of the blast and 'I am become death, shatterer of worlds', a passage from a Hindu scripture came across his mind.

BALKANS - 500 YEARS OF OTTOMAN

1354 - Ottoman Turks establish themselves on European soil at Gallipoli.

1371 - Ottomans defeat the Serbs on the River Maritsa.

1683 - Turks march on Vienna and are routed.

1684-99 - Europen powers defeat the Turks in the War of the Holy League. The Ottomans lose many of their Balkan holdings.

1774 - Russia defeats the Turks.

1799 - Montenegro succeeds in gaining Turkish recognition of its independence.

1804-1813 - Serbs unsuccessfully revolt against the Turks.

1829 - Russia defeats Turkey again.

1856 - European powers and Turkey defeat Russia in the Crimean War.

1875-78 - insurrection against the Turks throughout the Balkans and with the help of Russia defeat the Turks. Serbia and Romania gain independence, Bulgarians wins autonomy. Austria-Hungary is awarded Bosnia and Herzegovina.

1912-1913 - First Balkan War. The Balkan League - Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and Montenegro, declares war on Turkey and further reduces its European territory.

Albanians revolt against the Turks and proclaim independence.

1914 - Archduke Franz-Ferdinand is assassinated in Sarajevo, Bosnia, an Austrian province at that time. 

Start of WWI

1918 - the United Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and the Slovenes, later called Yugoslavia is formally proclaimed.

1928 - Ahmed Bey Zogu, from Premier becomes King Zog I of Albania.

1939 - Mussolini Italy occupies Albania. King Zog is forced into exile.

Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Selangor, SAC Fadzil Ahmat berkata kes itu diklasifikasikan di bawah Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan, Jumaat lalu.

KUALA LUMPUR: Polis mengesahkan kes kematian Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd, Nazrin Hassan pada 14 Jun lepas, kini diklasifikasikan sebagai kes bunuh.
