THE TREE OF LIFE

Among the first to settle on the sea shore of distant islands are the coconuts.

The thick husk enable them to float and be carried away by sea currents for many months and perhaps years and yet remain viable to grow once landed. Coconuts provide life to the earth and living things including man. It is the Tree of Life.

Coconuts are magnificent plants of grace and beauty.

Hang your hammock between coconut trees and relax.

If help is delayed for long these stranded people can still survive on coconuts for drink, food and shelter.

Sea shore, Morib, Selangor (yesteryear). When planted along the beach, coconuts serve as wind breakers and reduce soil erosion.

Malacca Swimming Pool, Tanjong Bruas (yesteryear).
