Front cover of book "No Dram for Mercy" written by Sybil Kathigasu first published in 1954, republished 2006. Her picture when she was 30 years old on the cover. It is the story of a woman's courage during the Japanese occupation of Malaya.

Sybil Kathigasu was the wife of an Ipoh doctor who along with fellow Malayans became caught up with the horrors of the Japanese occupation during WW2. Her selfless concern for the sick and wounded anti-Japanese guerillas who came to her house secretly for treatment ended inevitably her betrayal and her arrest and imprisonment by the Japanese.
